Thank you for your great books! I know. that you always work a lot with historical material for your novels. I have a question on this topic. I saw unusual Celtic shields with holes in the movie The Last Kingdom,Season 1, episode 6. I read your novel The Pale Horseman and there is nothing about such features of shields in Cornwall. I read your words that you do not consult this film. But perhaps you have some knowledge of such atypical shields? Or maybe this is the fantasy of the artists of this film?

The designers do their wondrous work! I certainly have no knowledge of such shields, but the designers do a lot of research – maybe they found a source? Or maybe it’s a fertile imagination.
