Dear Mr. Cornwell, I want you to know I am a huge fan. You are one of two authors whose work is so good that I won’t buy or check out your newest book until slightly before a long weekend, and even then make sure my family knows I have plans. Moreover, I can see a real progression in your storytelling since your early work, not that it was bad, but I have gone back and read everything you have ever written as far as I know. My favorite is the Uhtred series. I was disturbed when you came out with Agincourt as I thought this meant you were going in a different direction, and I was very concerned that Uhtred’s story, and the chapter of England, was not complete. I will read whatever you produce in the meantime but anxiously await the rest of Uhtred’s tale. The Burning Land seems to drag a little, at least compared to the other books in the series, the first two of which I consider your best work ever. Please keep up the good work. I’m not asking for signed books or anything, I just wanted to let you know what a fan I am. But when you go on a tour in my area you can bet I will be there for that purpose.
