Just finished reading “The Burning Land” after what seemed like a long wait for it to arrive, but the wait was well worth it! Once again a magnificently crafted tale which brilliantly portrays the struggle to create England. I just wish that authors like you had been around when I was at school. Without Sharpe, Harper, Uhtred (and Rider Sandman) I wouldn’t know a fraction of what I have learned from reading your books, whilst also being thoroughly entertained. It’s good to see that the Booker Prize has finally gone to a historical novelist, giving the historical novel the recognition it has long deserved. Best regards, and I will be looking forward to when Uhtred campaigns again! Graham Bradbury
