Dear Mr. Cornwell: I want to thank you for the wonderful novels you have written over the years. The Sharpe’s series remains my primary collection of stories I have returned to for exciting, well written historical novels. The Saxon stories have more recently opened up a whole new world of landscapes, people and events out of the mysterious past. They’re like the written equivalent of listening to a first person telling by an old warrior of terrible and wonderful times whose landscapes were peopled by fantastic characters. The only thing making them better would be to be read by a campfire with the smell of burning wood and cooking meat on the spit. Great characters – again. I find myself slowing down my reading as I near the end of each story. They are just too good to finish! Thanks again and keep writing! Best, John
