Dear Mr Cornwell, I just wanted to congratulate you on your latest book ‘The Burning Land’ I started getting into your historic books a few years ago when i happened to be doing a part time course in Archaeology at Oxford open university. After reading Stonehenge I became a fan and since then have been reading all of your books which I then lend to my mother who’s become a fan too, although she’s not over keen on the sharp series I’m afraid. I’m sure like many of us your a very busy man but I appreciate you reading this, if you get this far. I’m a resident of Wantage (Oxford) the birth place of Alfred who’s statue dominates the market square here, I was wondering if you could get any local references into one of your novels? Uffington White horse being only 5 miles from here might be possible? Just a thought. That was all, other than to say thank you for writing some very good books! Do you have any book tours planned for the UK in the future? If you have any in Oxford and are interested at all in formula 1 motor racing I’m sure I can organise you a trip round the Williams f1 factory based just outside of Wantage where I’m one of the design team. Take care. Best wishes Steve Hubbard
