Hi Bernard Coming from Shropshire, I was wondering if you intend to mention Bridgnorth in Sword Song or a future Saxon story? I ask this because Bridgnorth largely came into being in 912, AD as a result of King Alfred’s daughter, Ethelfreda, building a fortified township above the severn which was later to grow into Bridgnorth. It would therefore please me greatly if you could manage to weave this into one of these stories. I imagine you must have visited parts of Shropshire in the past – mainly because you mention Ironbridge as place of hell and brimstone in one of your Sharpe novels. Anyway, Best wishes. Phil
