REMOTE CONTROL

Bernard Cornwell has said that if Sharpe was alive today he'd be in the SAS. Well Nick Stone is a reincarnation of Richard Sharpe if ever there was one. He escaped from a broken home and the street crime in London to join the Army as a boy, made it in to the SAS and is now a K, a deniable agent. He's constantly at odds with his superiors and tends to screw up whenever women or children are involved. The action is graphic and gritty and very informative. He explains in detail how to deal with defecating while at an OP (observation point) to outwitting motion detectors to creating an incendiary device out of ordinary household products. This is the first of a series by Andy McNab whose real life exploits were related in his non-fiction book Bravo Two Zero. Ironically enough he was played by Sean Bean in the film of the same name.
