This book is about Colquhoun Grant, Wellington's Intelligence Officer. First let me dissuade you by saying that in about a decade of trawling second hand book shops, this is the first (and only) book I have found on this remarkable man (actually I lied, my wife standing next to me found it). Although even to date there is only limited knowledge of his whole life there is enough to thread together for an exceptional story. The author has gone to great lengths to find out what there is to know by family, friends and military records. It would be well worth keeping your eyes open for this book, it puts a different perspective on the peninsula campaign and would compliment anyone's library.
