When you think if fantasy you tend to think of Hobbits, Harry Pottor,Wizards and Goblins. Not so Gemmell, with him its blood and guts of normal people and there are no good guys or bad guys. This is an excellent novel very hard hitting while the main character is one of the few characters who seems more deadly than Sharpe.
