Dear Mr. Cornwell,

I quite accidentally stumbled upon your books when looking for a new author to read and have never been disappointed by your stories.  I was a history major in college and found myself drawn to a number of historical fiction writers, reading many of your colleagues' stories before finding your Last Kingdom Series.  I am extremely grateful I did find it because I find the character of Uhtred to be incredibly engaging, dynamic and nuanced.  I look forward to every publication and have even gone so far as to order from the U.K. when I have not wanted to wait for the U.S. publication date.  In closing, thank you again for providing me with hours upon hours of enjoyment.  I wish you nothing but the best in life and look forward to reading the entirety of all your series.

Sincerely,

Adam Dolan

Hello, Mr. Cornwell.

First of all, I'd like to apoligize if I'm not adressing you properly, not really a native english speaker. Either way, me and some of my friends wanted to thank you, you had a massive influence in our development as professionals, I'm beggining my career as a game story writer almost solely based on the beauty of your story telling, and many similar stories can be told by my friends.

Thank you a lot, your writing is wonderful and inspiring!

Wellington Lecture -

With the usual crush at the end of such a lecture I didn't get an opportunity to personally thank you. I feel compelled to send a heartfelt thankyou for the lecture you gave last night. I read the Sharpe books as they were first released into my local library (I am 47 now so was quite young at the time!) and, unique to any other book I have ever read, have reread the entire series at least twice. I was really looking forward to hear you talk and I thought that it was a fantastic event and so wasn't disappointed.

Kind regards,

Andrew Whitehead

Glad you enjoyed it!

Q

Hello Bernard,

Just a quick hello from a huge fan of your Last Kingdom series. I really enjoy how you capture the realism and harshness of the times for example the value placed on mail armor highlighting the importance of very limited resources. Uhtred is, as David Gemmell once wrote, a  man to walk mountains with. Hope to see you at a book signing next time you are in Liverpool,

Dave.

Q

Have just finished reading The Flame Bearer - as gripping a read as ever...however, despite all the pleasure I have had from the Uhtred series I think this would have been a good place to stop. I was somehow disappointed to read that his story is unfinished - just don't ask me why!!

"This all sounds a bit unfriendly......"

Kind regards,

Cliff Dixon

Hi.  My name is Stanley Fox.  I too am in the line of Uhtred.  I am related to Thorfin of Orkney islands cousin of Macbeth.  Thorfin Granddaughter married Gospatric who goes up the line thru Siward to Uchtred.  Cousin. No wonder you are so fascinated with history.

Q

Greetings, Mr Cornwell from Knoxville Tennessee.

I have been an avid reader of your books for a decade and am currently attending the University of Tennessee. I made my cousin who lives in the UK mail me a copy of your latest book and I just had to congratulate you on what I consider your greatest work in a brilliant career. Thank you for sparking my love of history which someday soon I'll be teaching and also for always giving your best each and every book. I look forward to you somehow managing to top yourself once again.

Sincerely,

Jonathan Elliott
