Q

Thank you for dedicating The Pale Horseman to George MacDonald Fraser. It was with great pleasure that one author who had given me so many hours of pleasure honored another who had done the same. Ron Black

Q

Dear Mr. Cornwell, I really enjoy the Sharpe Books, but every time I read a passage where a bullet picks a man up off his feet, or knocks him backwards, I cringe. Such an action defies the laws of physics. Best regards. Ralland J. Fortier

Q

Thank you so much. Your books have meant so much to me. Laughed and cried for Sharpe. I am humbled at your talent. Thanks again. Johnny Sheffield

Q

I have just bought your new book the Lords of the North to read on holiday. I could not put it down and now have no book to read when away. Why did you stop it were you did, why could not they have marched to take Bebbanburg. It feels that you have only told half the tale. I need to know what the next book in the series is to be so I can finish the story. Excellent read - I can not remember the last time I was left on the edge of my seat by a book. Many Thanks Best regards, Greg Chadwick

Hello Bernard, I first stumbled across your writings when my Welsh uncle lent me a copy of the Winter King and I must say that no Author since Roald Dahl in my childhood has quite had the impact on my reading habits since that one faithful event. I read through the Warlord Chronicles and enjoyed them immeasurably. Since then I have read the grail quest and recently I have started your saxon tales. After picking up the Last Kingdom last year I had been waiting for The Pale Horseman to come to a local bookstore for 6 months which felt like a lifetime. I stumbled across both The Pale Horseman and The Lords of the North last week whist looking through my local Waterstones. Both of which I immediatley purchased and ran away like an over excited school girl and read both books in 2 days. My question is when is the next of Uhtred's tales to be put to paper? To say I am looking forward to future books in the series is an understatment. Anyway, I would like to take this opertunity to wish you every success in the future and hope that you continue to write many more wonderful books! Yours Sincerly, Marc Keys

I haven't started the next book yet...but I'm glad to know you enjoyed The Lords of the North.

Q

Hi, please write more Starbuck!!! please I'm so frustrated as I have just finished The Bloody Ground and now have nothing to read!!! please. thanks, Ash

Q

Dear Mr. Cornwell I have to begin by saying that my father always encouraged me to read. I remember when I was tweleve he put me in a small bookstore and said I was not leaving untill I found something to read. It was magic when I found Sharpe's Rifles sitting right there in front of my eyes. The photo of gold coins and a musket caught my eye... now seven years later I find myself far away from home on the other side of the world here in Taji Iraq, just on the outskirts of Baghdad still bleeding dry the words inside each and everyone of your novels. My deployment is a long one, and every book I read and re-read from each and every one of your series' passes the time very fast. All I want to say is THANK YOU for constantly writing endless titles. May the great books never end. -Private Brian Obstbaum 4th Infantry Divison Taji Iraq

Thank YOU Private Obstbaum - for your kind message and for your service to our country. You have my best wishes and my admiration.

Q

Dear Mr. Cornwell, I read the post from Jennifer dated 31 May concerning the different sizes of Sharpe books sold in American book stores. I, too, was bothered by this and solved the problem by ordering all of them from Amazon.UK. There are two different styles of covers, but at least they're all the same size. I hope this helps her! Thank you for so much enjoyment! Kathy Foley

Q

Hi firstly let me just say that I'm a huge fan! I read constantly and pick up most of my books in charity shops. I stumbled upon your books quite by accident, the first being Harlequin. I couldn't put it down and went out and brought the Vagabond from my local book shop. Having finished the grail series I've moved onto the saxon stories which I think are even better. I've been busy wrting my own books for last few years and have never really known which direction to take, but after reading your style of work - I think they're definitely likely to be historical fiction. So thank you for inspiring me - I hope to have my first manuscript finished by the end of the year. Emma Shortt

Best of luck to you.

Q

I should just like to let you know how I have thoroughly enjoyed everyone of your books - all of which I have bought new (which I hope gives you some satisfaction!) and I am eagerly waiting for Sharpe's Fury and the Lords of the North to appear on Australian Bookshelves. Kind regards and thanks for the ongoing pleasure. Bill Dent

Q

I just finished "The Last Kingdom." It was the first book of yours that I have read. I was hooked from the very first page. I cannot wait to read the second book of that series. Thank you for the visit back in time. Timi Hazle
