I have no question but want to thank you for enriching my life. The warlord trilogies are the best books I have ever read and have touched my very soul. Very little is written from our (the Britons) point of view - diolch yn fawr. Mat Mathias

I am very sorry to besiege you with this information Mr. Cornwell, but the Sharpe film series was horrid. It completely dirgraced the books. Too much was changed, for me Sharpe just isn't Sharpe anymore. The movies were a horrible twist from an above all fantastic series. I am not disgracing you in anyway, for it is me who can spend days lost in the pages of a Sharpe book. I love the books but do think the films where a terrible mistake. Yours Truly, A faithful reader.

Sorry you didn't care for them!

Hello Mr Cornwell I have just finished reading the Warlord chronicles and i just wanted to say how much i enjoyed them. They truly took me on a journey, i could feel, smell, taste and touch the action. I have always been interested in the Arthur myths, and found your books very stimulating on that subject. It made me wish to be a warrior in Dark Ages Britain. Just wanted to say thanks and keep up the good work. Best Regards Andrew

Hello, I'm just writing to add to what another reader posted on Nov 28th. My sister and I live in Brittany and have been reading books on Arthur for years and years. When my sister purchased your Arthur Trilogy we both became completely obsessed by the books and were incapable to put them down until we had finished them. We both agree that they are by far the best books about Arthur that we have ever read and we would really love them to be put to film. Thank you for giving us the possibility to momentarily experience another era. Amity, 23, from Broceliande

Q

dear Mr. Cornwell, I am a ninteen year old boy that never liked to read any thing, until I read your books. I just wanted to thank you, I know that you hear this all the time but I wanted you to know that you are the reason why I love to read now. I have read the Warlord chronicles, the Archer's tale, parts of the Starbuck chronicles and I just finished the Last Kingdom. Your ability to show these characters and make them in way relateable to young men like me is amazing. These books inspire me to go out into the world and do great things. so I guess I am just thankful for your books and know that you have gained a fan for life. sincerly, Daniel Paxton La Habra Ca.

Thank you for that kind message Daniel. I appreciate hearing from you.

Q

Mr. Cornwell -- I hardly know how to begin thanking you for your wonderful Arthur books. On your website you say they are the books you are most proud of, and truly, you deserve to be. I am a (currently unpublished) writer, and find myself SO impressed by the 'density' of your story -- by which I mean, the incredibly detailed, layered, populated, woven tapestry that you create, and your characters, who seem to live and breathe! I am a later-comer to your works (sorry!), never having been a reader of historicals, although long urged to by my brothers, who are longtime fans. I have now passed the books on to friends, as valued treasures. It is an honor to be able to communicate with you personally just to thank you. Sincerely, Annemarie Blue, Ft Myers, FL

Hello Mr. Cornwell, My name is Thiago, I am a Brazilian 18 years old boy. I had read the Arthur Books and the Grail Quest and I have enjoyed it a lot. They are beautiful. When I was reading I felt like I was there, fighting side by side with Arthur and Thomas!! Amazing! I am here just to congratulate you and ask if you had any contact from the Brazilian publisher to come to Brazil and "visit" the fans (they are a lot) you have here. Please, if you get this chance, come, we are waiting for you. >From one of yours brazilians fans, Best wishes, Thiao Holanda

Thank you for your kind message Thiao. I don't have plans for a visit to Brazil right now, but I'd love to get there some day!

Q

Thank you for starting a new series. I enjoyed reading "The Last Kingdom" very much. All the Arthur books were incredible too. I work nights at RI Hospital in the Respiratory Therapy Department and my nights will be longer now that the book is finished until the next one arrives. Please don't ever stop writing about that time period. And do some more about the Norsemen. They are also fasinating. Back to work now. Good luck, Cathy

Q

Mr Cornwell I have just heard that in another of its restructurings (i.e. trying to do more with less), the British Army is going to amalgamate its light infantry regiments into a single, seven battalion regiment called .... The Rifles. I also hear from 'sources close to the MoD' that the global popularity of a certain Mr Richard Sharpe esq had a great deal to do with the choice of name. On a sadder note, my father (ex KRRC) recently passed away and I would like to thank you for the wonderful Sharpe books, which were a great source of enjoyment to him (and continue to be so for me). I know he would have approved of the new regiment. Andy

A

You're so right about trying to do more with less - and if they have to gut the British army then at least we still have The Rifles - which is some consolation. Things don't change, really - Then it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "Tommy how's yer soul? But it's "Thin red line of 'eroes" when the drums begin to roll," as Kipling wrote. I'd like to think Sharpe had some influence! And I'm very sorry about your father, but glad he took some enjoyment from the books.

Q

I hope that you are doing well. You'd mentioned that you were re-doing your site & I came by to check it out. It's great. It's much cleaner & easier to peruse. My husband is enjoying your Sharpe books and so am I since he asks me questions about the time period that make me appear very smart :). Wishing you a happy holiday season. Best, Sari
