Mr. Cornwell, I've been reading your Sharpe books for over 3 years. I love them. I read 13 of them and am surprised that there are even more to read, and that you are still writing them!!! I just started reading the Grail Quest series. I've read the first one and right now I am reading the second one of the trilogy. I can't put them down! This series is even better than your Sharpe Books!! And now I just discovered your website and am able to see all of your books you have written. Amazing! Thanks for the great writing sir!!! Tom A.

Hi Bernard, i've just finished reading 'The Pale Horseman' and i was totally hooked. The Saxon Stories have got to be one of my favorite series of books you have written so far. I have been reading your books for nearly thirteen years since i was 14 so keep them coming. Bernard I salute you!!!!! Aaron

Q

Dear Mr Cornwell, I found your "advice for new writers" page really helpful. I'm trying to write my own novel, and am up to just under thirteen thousand words. I really am enjoying it! Thanks a lot, Neil Edwards.

I'll look forward to reading it when it's published!

Mr. Cornwell, I thoroughly enjoy reading about the history of my own country, the United States, as well as that of Europe, particularly the medieval period through the early 19th century, and wanted to compliment you on your books of historical fiction. I have read, and re-read, virtually everything you have penned, and am sure I will read many of these same books again while waiting for your next one. I wish you continued good fortune and look forward to reading many more of your novels. Sincerely, Jeff Parks

Q

Bernard, I'm glad to see you've moved from "not any time soon" to "I am considering" re a sequel to Gallows Thief. I'd like to add my voice to a call for more of Rider Sandman, Rev Lord Alexander Pleydell and cricket. Dianne

Dear Bernard, Your books were referred to me by a friend, after i had commented that i had not found a writer whose works i enjoyed more then James Clavell. He advised that i might find your Sharpe series enjoyable. James Clavell is a tough writer to beat. I greatly enjoyed his asian saga, and to be honest upon opening my first Sharpe book (Sharpes Triumph) i did not have 'great expectations' (another good author). 15 pages into Sharpes Triumph and i was hooked. I am now up to Sharpes Sword, and i cannot wait until Sharpes meeting with Napolean in Sharpes Devil. I've also purchased the DVD series off EBAY, however i will not watch it until i have finished reading the books. I only hope the DVD's do your works justice. I imagine you get more then a few letters of praise. However here is one of thanks! Thank you for writing such an engaging series, and informative series, with such real and intrigueing characters. Yours in gratitude, Ben DUNN

Q

Mr Cornwell, my grandma would have been amazed that I'm able to leave this note for you. We both avidly read Sharpe books. My thanks to you that she was able to enjoy them. When Winter King came out I bought the book for her as a christmas gift. She passed away before she could read it, we put it with her when she was cremated just like a saxon. My many thanks for your books and Ragnar is the best. Wishing you and your family fruitfull years. Lucas Demaine Payton

Q

Dear Bernard Cornwell I want to start of by saying thank you for writing The Last Kningdom, you have since got me hooked. I have read all the Sharpe books through Sharpes sword and I am running into trouble locating the rest is in libraries or at local book stores but I will try my best to read them all. As of about ten minutes ago I just finished the book Vagabond and I can't wait to start the next one in the series. I read on the rear cover of one of your books that you live on the Cape, and I think that is wonderful. I live out in Concord Mass so I can feel for another fellow of Mass. I just wanted to thank you and tell you to keep writing because so far I love everything you have written. p.s. write something about a character from the American Revolution I think that would be a good read. Sincerely PFC David Nelson

Take a look at Redcoat when you have the chance. You'll find it by clicking on Other Books under the Select a Book series box.

Mr. Cornwell, Just thought I'd drop you a line and let you know you have another big fan in the works. I've always been a fan of epic historical films so it was only sensible to mix my love of such movies, and my love of reading. Luckily enough, I happened to come across Heretic. Unbeknownst to me however, Heretic was book three in a series. Long story short, the remaining Grail Series was bought, devoured, and I needed more. At the moment I'm blazing through The Warlord Trilogy and I have to say it's great. I'm sure you receive countless letters like this one, but as someone who dreams of writing, I can't imagine praise being a bad thing. Which bring me to the next point of having read your writing advice. I've read alot of advice in my time from countless differing sources; Stephen King; Edward Lee; Richard Laymon... It's always good to see bestselling authors, even from different genres, with similar advice. Doesn't mix up the mind, or even screw with confidence. I only mention this because I haven't been sitting down to write lately. However, reading your fluid prose just makes me want to sit in from of this screen and type. Thanks alot, and good luck in the future keeping all of us dreary eyed, bushy tailed, would be authors writing. Ken Richard
