Dear Sir; I am a Confederat reenactor a member of E Co 5th Texas. Resently we were allowed to camp at Dunker Church. Your book Bloody Ground brought so much more to the experience than the rangers tour. Respectfully Yours. Gator Private ANV CSA

Firstly. Thanks for signing my copy of The Pale Horseman at leadenhall market the other day. Haven't read it yet as I'm going to read Last Kingdom again first. Hope you found the article about the longbows I left you interesting. Secondly. Sorry for not asking after you as I only got my bulletin from the S.A.S. after seeing you again. Hope the recovery is now complete. Nigel

A

I did find it interesting - thank you!

Dear Mr. Cornwell, I have just finished The Pale Horseman. When I first began reading historical fiction I never would have believed it could cause such varing emotions within me. I've laughed & become angry & cried with every page of your latest book. Thank you so very much for giving me a front row seat into the life of Uhtred. I am amazed at how you can bring a reader into your stories. Every time I open one of your books I am always transported to that point in history. I tried to read The Pale Horseman as slowly as possible in an effort to savour each word, but alas I am finished & desperately awaiting the next instalment! Thank you for being such a wonderful author. Best wishes, Hannah

Q

I would just like to tell you that the King Arthur Trilogy is the best series of books i have ever read, i cannot wait to read more of your incredible books. I hope to go on to do Medieval History at university and your books are partly responsible for my great admiration for that peroid in time. Thankyou greatly. Jack Dowling

Q

Have written you couple of years ago, when I lived in Montana. Love your work. PLEASE write another novel with Rider Sandman. "The Gallows Thief" is one of the great books of recent times. I have never had characters and a story stay with me so long and come to me so often. I can still picture the estate in the country where they found the witness to the murder, SW of London as I recall. Five sea shells over the door. And the carriage ride back to London is a masterful piece of writing. Thanks for taking the time to read this. Gary Thomas

Q

Hi I've just read the Saturday Telegraph article by Toby Clements and his non mention of your 'sailing' books led me to your website & your comment that there may not be any more. That would be sad. I've searched airport bookshelves every time I travel hoping to find another - do please give it some thought. Regards Ian Bremner

A

I shall - thank you.

Q

Hello Mr Cornwell, I've just been reading through your "writing advice" page and wanted to let you now how useful (and inspiring) I found it. I've just finished writing a children's novel this week and I've got to say there's been times when it's been one long hard (but enjoyable) slog. It's reassuring to know that it's the same for every writer! Many thanks, Steve Renwick

Q

Sir, I know you probably get this all the time, we here in the U.S. are ready for Stonewall to march again(Starbuck along with him). Please, continue soon, and thanks for all the great stories. Matthew Figgins

Q

Mr.Cornwell, Thank you for writing books that capture the imagination and the heart. I first started reading your books when I was in eighth grade (Starbuck Chronicles)and have continued reading them post-undergraduate. As a history major I enjoy and appreciate reading your books and if I could see one of your characters "ride again," I think it would have to be Starbuck. Once again thanks and I look forward to finishing the Grail Quest series and the rest of what your fascinating mind has to share! Gambier, OH USA

Hello, I'm currently devouring Pale Horseman and wonderful stuff it is, too! Uhtred is a fascinating character, not as noble, I think, as Derfel (who remains my favourite of your 'heroes'.) Here we are, back again in Merlin's lands of Avalon and you can hear his words haunting Alfred and Uthred's lives: 'Fate is inexorable.' You have also managed to make the Christians even worse than ever and like Uthred I am exasperated at their perfidious stupidity and greed. Great stuff - thanks. Jeremy Griffiths
