Just finished Sword Song and now I'm sad! Do I really have wait for the next book???? Hurry up Bernard. ;-) Gareth

Q

I have just finished reading Sword Song and I simply wanted to congratulate you on a cracking good read - you are truly the master of your art. The only problem I have now is that you set the benchmark so high I'm having a hard time finding other authors of your calibre who write historical novels - I've read all of Graham Shelby's and George Shipway's work and would welcome any names you can recommend to keep me going until I can read the next installment of Uhtred's tale.

Dear Bernard, You no doubt get a ton of emails, so I'll be quick. Your books are brilliant. I'm a Dane living in England, have read the Saxon books and I have nothing but compliments for you. I struggle to put them down and bring them with me everywhere hoping a meeting will be cancelled or I'll be stuck in traffic so I can carry on reading if only for a couple of minutes. My dad has always been a hardcore workaholic, but when introduced to your books he all of a sudden found time to sit on the couch reading. Never seen before in my lifetime! I then went on to read the Arthur series and found it was even better. Very impressive! So thank you for the many hours of quality entertainment and keep up the good work. No need to reply - just wanted you to know that what you do is greatly appreciated. Best regards, Kasper Bang Henriksen

Q

Thank You! It has taken 57years and finding "Last Kingdom" I have read my 1st novel. In fact It was read in 7days and since then and within 7 weeks I have finished all three and waiting for the fourth. My ancestors came from areas that you have written about which makes it all come really alive. Thank You again!

I'm delighted to discover that you have completed Sword Song and that I will be able to continue reading the Saga of Uhtred and Serpent-breath. The good news is that my wife is buying it for me; the bad news is that it's a Christmas Present and I will have to wait a while longer to read it. Meanwhile I look forward to any future book-signing events in the North Lincolnshire area. Many thanks for the enjoyment your books have given me over the years. Kind regards Alan Gidney

Q

Q

Dear Bernard, I write you just to tell that you are my preferred Author. In particular, I believe that the Arthur Books are the best I ever read. The characters of King Arthur and Merlin are extraordinary and the contrast between their different life concept extremely exciting. I regret that my English knowledge is not so good to allow me to read your books in their original language. I have read the Artur Books already three times and every time I am discovered some new aspect of interest.. Soon I am going to start again their reading.... However I have read almost all your production. In particular, I appreciated a lot "Stonehenge" and "Stormchild", the latter possibly because I am directly involved in environment protection movement and have a daughter as old as the one in the romance. I have also read many books of the Sharpe series. They also are a very pleasant reading, but (sorry to be so honest), they are not equal to the other books. In other words, they could have been written by a ..... common Wilbur Smith or Ken Follett...... Still many congratulations and my best regards. Piero Belletti

Just over half way though, The lords Of The North. After reading the two previous novels am hooked. Just wanted to thank you, these books have helped me though a very tough patch in my life.

First saw Sharpe's Rifles and then I decided to read the books. I then read your other series and loved them too. You have a very great and rare talent for storytelling. Thanks for writing all of these wonderful volumes.

Dear Mr Cornwell finished Sword Song within 2 days. I would like to say it's simply fantastic, the plot and the new characters, etc. I especially like the fact that Uhtred had changed a lot, from the young, arrogant and rash warrior to the great shining warlord with a fearsome reputation all around England. Keep up with the good work!
