Q

Dear Cornwell, I am a Brasilian reader of your work. I just want to tell you that's a wonderful work in my opinion. I have just finished "The Arthur Books" and I'm reading "Harlequin" right now. Here in Brazil your books were released in a strange order... Finally, I want to wish you all the best. Sorry for the poor English. Daniel Rossi

A

Your English seems fine to me! Thanks for your kind words.

Q

I would like to say that I love the Sharpe books and thought the series could be a smash hit series of games, taking his visits and missions to different countries as whole games. Although I know nothing of game design I thought a cross between "cossacks battle for Europe" and "lord of the rings-return of the king". It doesn't matter, the books are great. Douglas Rennie

A

There's been talk of a Sharpe game, but nothing seems to have come of it. Glad to know you like the books!

Q

I have trully enjoyed the Arthur stories and the Saxon Tales, and eagerly await the latest in that series. Thank you for your brilliant works. ... Steapa is my favorite unlikeable character. My best to you, sir, Brian

Q

Mr Cornwell, I've finally got my hands on Sword Song! I think it's just come out for less than a week, quite speedy of them! I'm just getting to the part where Lundene fell (and I think fellow readers also living in Hong Kong may be eager to go and get a copy from Page One in Causeway Bay, just so you can tell them if they ask) anyway, Sword Song is brilliant so far! best regards.(ps. godspeed in Agincourt!)

Q

Mr. Cornwell, I would like to begin by thanking you for making hours, days and weeks of my life a complete pleasure! I cannot possibly put into words how much your writing, characters and themes grasp me. When I begin a new offering of yours I read it cover to cover without fail. I would guess I am into my 3rd and sometimes 4th reading of your novels. I am currently hooked on the Saxon Stories, about to read Sword Song for the first time. This is likely my favorite of your series so far. I don't really have any question other than asking if you have any plans to be in Western Canada in the future. My entire point for writing in was simply to praise your work and let you know that your efforts and gift as a writer is greatly appreciated and respected. May you continue for many years!! Thank you. Kelly Tackaberry

A

Thank you Kelly. No plans for Western Canada at the moment, but I may be there again in the future; be sure to check the Diary page for a listing of all my appearances.

Q

Dear Mr. Cornwell, I have read dozens of your books (starting with the The Grail Quest) and they have all, without exception, been an excellent read. Thank you very much for providing me (and many others I am sure) with such superb stories. Long may they continue! Many thanks and kind regards, William Rodwell (UK)

Q

Dear Sir, I'm currently serving in the British Army and living out in Germany. I have been reading your books for many years now and they have inspired me to study history via the open university. I obviously started reading the Sharpe stories and I thought that they couldn't be topped, but your recent Saxon stories are the best set of books I've ever read! Saxon England is my favourite part of British history and I've read many books dedicated to this long period and again, Uhtred is up there with Harold Godwinson in my eyes!! Thanks for making life in Iraq enjoyable with your books. Cheers. Gareth Bamford

Q

Sir: I was totally dismayed that you decided to just leave Nathaniel backing out of Maryland. And that was that?? Surely you aren't serious! I can't recall being more disappointed. Please write the end, even if it only amounts to a few hundred words. And I would appreciate it if you would start on this early next week. Thank you. Sincerely, Worth Mathewson

Q

Just to thank you for your fine book. I just started reading your first book on the Last Kingdom and I love it. You see, I love reading about history and all so I have been researching my family tree and my wife's family tree. Well after researching our family lines, I have 64 generations and over 150,000 people it. Well I am Danish Scottish and my wife is Norman Danish origin. Well let me just say you did a great job in your history and I am looking forward to all your books. thank you, Winthrop

Q

I just wanted to tell you how much your Sharpe books have inspired me, before I read them I knew very little of the Napoleon wars, or indeed anything about that period at all. I just wanted to tell you how much you, and your books, have inspired me. Jonathan Holder
