I cannot thank you enough for writing The Saxon Tales. As I walked through my bookstore, I noticed the cover of The Last Kingdom, and was drawn to it by my particular affinity for that era. I must say, I've hardly enjoyed books as much as The Last Kingdom, and I have read every following title while eagerly awaiting Sword Song. In the mean time, I look forward to reading everything else you've written. Thanks for rekindling my interest in literature!

I just wanted to say that I am a huge Brazilian fan of your books. I have almost all books published here, what more can I say, you are the MAN! I started reading your books because I like the middle ages wars, tactics, weapons that sort of thing so the Arthur books were perfect. From there I went to the Grail and another hit. But then the bookstore came with Sharpe and that wasn't my choice of reading so I didn't buy the first time I saw the book but I figured, well you have credit, so I purchased Sharpe's Tiger (in Brazil the books were published in the chronological order)and well you did it again. Now I like Sharpe, that period of time, weapons, tactics, everything, and in here the books are a little expensive but it doesn't matter because I prefer to read than to eat. No, I am kidding! I want to say thank you for the countless hours of fun and please please keep writing! Sorry for my English, it's self taught. PS: Excalibur I read in one day because I had to study for an very important exam, that's how good it was. Eduardo Nolde

Mr. Cornwell, First of all I would like to congratulate you, and I do realize that you get that all the time, but it's never enough. And thank you, cause you have been a inspiration for me. I have decided to be a writer although that would not give me enough money to have a good life here in Brazil, so it will be just for fun, and hopefully, in the future, my profession. I have always been an avid book reader, going all the way from Dostoiévski, Nietzsche and Gabriel Garcia Marquez and, of course, Mr. Bernard Cornwell to anything that can work as a distraction. But being 22 years old, haven't found much time because of my university, work and typical college night life. Besides all that, I hope that someday you will hear about some young Brazilian writer. Thank you for everything, Juliano Torres

I hope so too! Best of luck to you!

Dear Mr Cornwall I just wanted to drop you a quick message to say how much I have enjoyed your books. Ive read the Grail Quest and Arthurian Warlord Chronicles. I am nearing the end of Sword Song, the fourth of your Saxon Stories. I am passionate about medieval and dark ages history and your books have really brought those eras to life. Hope you pen some more Saxon Stories :-) Many thanks for the great books and all the best Chris

My husband has all your Sharpe books and this will be the first Christmas in 10 years that I cannot give him either a new book or video. He rereads the books at least yearly and views the videos every three or so months. Please new Sharpe for next year!!!!! Thanks. You live in a beautiful place. Dianne Campbell

Q

Dear Mr. Cornwell. I'm one of your Danish fans, and look so much forward to read "Sword Song" as soon as it's published in DK. The Saxon Stories are very interesting for me as a Dane to read. I have looked for a good history which takes place in the Viking period and I was hooked the second I laid my eyes on "The Last Kingdom" It's great to read about my ancestors and the way you describe everything, is like being there myself, right in the battle, right in the shield wall. You must have done a huge research and that's really appreciated. Thank you for a fantastic, vivid story :-)

Thank you for giving me pleasure in reading your books. Since my first book, Harlequin, I've been 'building' my own little library of your books at home. Currently at 'Sharpe's Havoc' and just bought 'Sword Song' and had ordered Sharpe's Gold and Sharpe's Fury from Amazon.com. Your books are the only those that stir me to want to live in your various periods. Thank you. Regards, your book's fan from Penang, Malaysia.
