Good Day Mr. Cornwell. I first would like to say that no matter how cliche it might sound, I am a huge fan. I have read all the Sharpe Novels, the Grail Quest, The Arthur books, and am anxiously awaiting the next in the saxon series which, by the way, is so far my favorite.

Several years ago I became a tremendous fan of Sharpe and his exploits. My brother was a LRRP in Vietnam and the Rifles were almost similar. I introduced my oldest friend dying of lung cancer to the series and he was able to finish prior to his demise. Thanks from me and my friend. HODGE CRABTREE

I am sorry to hear of your friend's death.

Q

Hey Bernard, just found your website and it is pretty neat. Just wanted to say your "Grail Quest" series was the best series i've ever read, my absolute favorite. I am disappointed to read that you don't have any big plans for Thomas of Hookton in the near future, but I do hope you come out with something for him eventually. I'm sure you've heard it a billion times, but keep up the good work. The Grail Quest was seriously AWESOME. Going to start on "The Saxon Stories" next. You should come do a booksigning in Chicago some time, great city :D Have a good one, Mike (16)

Q

Mr. Cornwell, Thank you so much for providing hours of exciting reading. I started with your Sharpe books, and did not find the other series until later. I just finished Stormchild, and it was wonderful. You obviously know your way around a sailboat. Your historical descriptions make me feel that I am there. I am an old history buff, and love your way of getting me into the story. I am retired, and live on an historic gold mine property (claimed in 1887)near Columbia, CA. Thank you again for your stories. With warm regards, Alan Alan O'Neill

Dear Bernard Cornwell: For the sake of all those who have not read gallow's thief, I just wanted to make a comment that it was great. As an avid Sharpe fan, I was actually putting off reading Gallow's Thief, even though I had purchased it. Finally,I decided to give it a shot and was delighted to do so. I am in the process of re-reading the Sharpe series for the second time and just previously finished Sharpe's Prey. As a Christmas gift, I received Mark Adkin's book, The Sharpe Companion, the early years- and find it goes along great with your books. Thank you for the excitment of your novels. David Smith--Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada

Q

I just wanted to say that I have enjoyed reading your books. I am a writer--still "working on something"--and the Sharpe series has inspired me. It has my own twist--I will only say it is an SF twist--and one day, if it comes to the light, then I hope you enjoy reading it. I do not plan on asking you what are your secrets or what you do to get published. I am just an Yank who hopes that I do not trend on history too much, or on your books. I thnak you for your time. Best wishes to you and yours for 2006. Lon Varnadore

Q

I just started reading the Sharpe series and can sum the ones I've read in one word: Outstanding! Keep up the good work! Rick Giles

Q

hello Mr Cornwell, where do I start? I've read and loved all your Sharpe books including my signed one I got off you at the Leeds museum convention back in April 04. I think I was the only teenager there ha ha. I've also read and loved the Grail Quest trilogy. I was wondering if you will write another Sharpe book again and if so, when? I'm looking forward to reading the two current viking books of yours as I've told my mum I would like them for Christmas ha ha. I would like to add that the character of Richard Sharpe is a good role-model as he is a fundamentally good person, despite his harsh upbringing and lack of a religion. His humanity shines through his tough character. Thanks and have a good Christmas. Philip Richmond

I hope you had a happy Christmas Philip and that Santa brought you everything on your list. I'll be starting a new Sharpe book soon!

Q

I've just read "The Pale Horseman". I was especially appreciative of the dedication, which I thought exceptionally generous of you. No reply needed! Jim.

Q

Dear Bernard I really enjoy reading and collecting your SHARPE novels in first edition hardback, my interests lie in military history of that period. However our greatest military leader I believe was the Duke of Marlborough and not Wellington, and it would be fantastic if you were to look at this period in our history and put pen to paper. I know of no fiction writer in this genre who has covered this period and wait in anticipation that you will be the first. Best wishes Tony Coleman

I think I'll do a series on Marlborough in my next existence - I don't think there's time in this one, but who knows? He was a genius, certainly . . . .
