Hello Mr. Cornwell The Last Kingdom is one of two books I read in my life that came so close to satisfying my imagination and fascination with history of nations. (the other book is about an ancient heroic arab character called Antar Ebin Shadad). Tawfiq Afifi

There aren't many authors that I wait for in anticipation of another novel. You are one, and Cormac McCarthy is the other. You are one of the very best. Please, never put down the pen! Bob McCall

Dear Mr. Cornwell, I am writing from New Zealand. I have just finished reading your latest novel "The Last Kingdom". It has not arrived in NZ yet but my friend got it in Melbourne Australia recently. It is brilliant. Just the sort of story I like to read. You are my favourite author. My friend Jenny and I share our books and we prowl around secend hand book shops to find them as well as keeping a good look out for just published ones. Our favourites of all time are the Campion ones. Your wife put the finishing womanly touches to it, and they are a great read for your women readers. I must say I have found it harder to get into the Sharpe series, but loved Starbuck and Warlord Chronicles. I now wait impatiently for "The Pale Horseman". Kindest Regards, Dot

Hi my name is David I'm 15. I have now read all of your Sharpe books and really enjoyed them, they have to be the best read I have read in a long time. I have also read the Last Kingdom and like the Sharpe books could not put it down and finished it in two days. You are the best author I have ever read from and really appreciate the way you write (even my friend who hates reading is now buying your books). Please keep turning out these books. Yours adoringly, Dave.

Love your books. You write it, I'll read it. If they make a movie, I'll see it. Keep up the good work. Thank God for books! Yeah, I like the sailing books best. Gary Hurst

I keep seeing so many readers saying they would love to see your Arthur Novels made in to films, and most seem to think Peter Jackson would do a good job. Perhaps those readers should e-mail Mr. Jackson at Wetta Digital on the following e-mail link: digital@wetafx.co.nz that way he could see just how successful this would be and may consider it! There's no harm in trying: I did and got a reply saying thanks, the message would be passed on to Mr. Jackson! Who knows, stranger things have happened. Andrew Moore

Thanks for the suggestion!

Hi Mr. Cornwell, any time you feel like writing a new Sharpe's novel, I'm ready ready ready to read! :) Mike Walls

Q

Just wanted to let you know that you're my favorite writer. I love your Sharpes series and have read at least a half dozen of them and plan on trying to get them all in hardback. I also have the complete DVD collection and I'm hoping to see more of the movies produced. Your Starbuck Chronicles are equally riveting, I really enjoyed them and hope to one day see more of them. Thank you for the many hours of reading pleasure I've received from your books. Never a dull moment in you books... James Wilson

Ok, my wife calls herself a "Sharpe's widow" since I will go into a trance while reading any Sharpe books and any of your other books for that matter. I am an avid reader of fiction and non-fiction meaning I will have 3 or 4 books going a week. I have trained myself in speed reading so I will skim over most books. I find when I read your books I MUST read every sentence because every one matters. It is especially hard to believe because Sharpes and Harper and Ducos and the rest seem like real people and one would think you would know what to expect so could skim. Nope. Thank God for the public library or I would be impoverished with a library of your books and videos of the Sharpe series. If there is anyone you could use a letter to regarding how great a Sharpe or any of your other books would be as a movie, (It makes me want to camp out at a theatre like a Star Wars fan, nah not really) well don't hesitate to ask.
